Sent to a friend[25217] Busted for Possesion in AZ
I recently got into some trouble at an Arizona Border Patrol checkpoint located a distance outside of on a freeway in AZ.I was given a ticket for "Attempted pass of Marijuanna" and "Attempted pass of Drug Paraphenalia" both felonies.
I had 5 joints on me, it weighed out to way less than an ounce.
This is my first offense in Arizona, i have one prior possession conviction in NM that happened over a year ago.
I live in NM which is about 6 hours from AZ. Which is where I have to attend court.
Like I mentioned above, I live quite a distance from where I have to go to court, do you know if it's possible for me to enter a plea by mail/fax or will I have to attend in person? If so, should I do it by mail/fax or is it better if I go in person?
Is it possible to get this lowered to a misdemeanor? I read you can enter a plea bargain, but I dont know how to do that.
Also, will I get probation/urinalysis for this? If so, how long can i expect to be on probation for?
If I get probation, will I have to report to my PO in AZ, or what happens in those cases?
I was considering taking a couple of drug classes before I went to see the judge, do you recommend I do this or just wait to see what the judge says?
I'm really confused and having trouble deciding how to proceed with all this.

- I just saw something on TV about a 19 year old kid who is looking at 8 years in prison for selling 20.00 worth of pot in an AZ town. He never was in trouble with the law just graduated Highschool WOW! Good luck kid.
