I'm a Christian, and proud of it. However, I keep looking up porn. No matter how hard I try, I'm always going back to it. I think I'm going to have to put a block on the computer...

If this is 5 or 6 hours every day, you may have a problem. Trying to find a mate might help, but it might also make things worse. You can get serious help from a professional, but it may be easier for you to discover yourself why exactly you do this. Try to understand it, and try to eliminate that cause. Occasional viewing, however, is nothing to be ashamed of -- even if you're religious.
I have had the same problem. I have decided to put my faith in Christ for I know he forgives us for our sins. He loves us and died on the cross to save us from our sins. Please keep your mind focused on Jesus and I promise that the urge to view will deminish.

Or you might have to realize that you're human (gasp) and that you can't be perfect. LOTS of people look at porn. Just because you find naked people and sexual acts attractive doesn't mean you're going to hell. It just means you're normal. Don't try and live up to impossible standards. Accept who you are and that you're not perfect.

You should put a block on the computer. Many people, myself included, share this struggle. You need to remove yourself from it, you need to really want to be healed and you need to trust God to heal you

It's an addiction, just like cigarettes, fatty food, or alcohol. It's good that you are concerned about it now, because before long it'll take weirder, raunchier porn to "satisfy" you. Are you married? Try acting out some fantasies with your spouse to spice things up. If you are single, and are waiting till marriage, well, i dunno what to tell ya, lol.
Put a block on the computer and find someone to talk to about it. Someone you trust. This crap is rampant in our culture and so hard to avoid. Hang in there and keep on praying.

Man, who cares? When there's priests abusing little boys I really don't think you have to worry about naked pictures. Maybe make sure they're from a quality site so that you know the girls aren't getting exploited, but after that, God made you the way you are and trust me, by the statistics, it's pretty natural to spank the monkey.

we are all sinners, Jesus died the death we were supposed to die, therefore in God's eyes His death was my death, hence my old self has died with Him. If it asserts itself and endeavors to bring me into bondage, I am to take sides with God AGAINST IT. He has condemned sin in the flesh, i must condemn it too. Instead of yielding to it, I am to yield myself unto God as one alive from the dead, for i have been crucified in Christ's crucifixion, but i live anew in His resurrection. No one is perfect, we all have given in to temptation at one point of our lives. the crux of the matter is whether we can confess our sins before God, and ask Him to help us, for we cant accomplish anything by ourselves. It is only thru God can we overcome sin. I used to be like that too, but i prayed to God for forgiveness and strength. The process wasnt easy, i failed, tried again, failed, tried again until finally, i managed to get rid of all these evil thoughts. Repentance is never an enjoyable experience, but vulnerability is the key to victory. When we go to Jesus with a humble heart, allow Him to pick us up and reveal the mess we've made of ourselves, it's only then that we can begin to live a useful, productive life that brings pleasure to our Heavenly Father. Give this burden to God, and He will take care of it. Thats how it worked out for me. i'll be praying for you, hope you will overcome this obstacle in your life. :)
Well... try looking at it from an objective point of view... i.e. non-religious, is looking at porn hurting anyone else (inc. yourself)? I can't answer this question for you, its up to you to decide. Hope it helps since I don't think porn is mentioned in the bible.
That’s a common issue among many people. You will struggle with it. Keep seeking a way out and remember that just because you are a Christian does not mean that you are better than anyone or that you will necessarily be protected from life’s difficult times. All it does mean is that you have a way out, so use it. You may never rid yourself of some afflictions, but that does not mean God is not with you.

that is a good idea. i'm a Christian and i struggle with the same thing. put a block on your computer. but more importantly, find a few guys you trust who you can share this with. if you try to do this alone, you'll fail. believe me, I KNOW! the other guys can encourage you and keep you on track if you fail again. my prayers are with you!
Maybe you should consider questioning lightly the motives and illogicality of your religion, you won't feel as guilty. After all, you're not doing anything wrong. You can't prove to me that God exists, and I can't prove to you that He doesn't exist. However, why not live your life the way you want, and find all of that stuff out when you die?

Remember that the devil works hard at people that have a conscience. he already has the evil people. He only goes after the ones who fear God because he wants to win his war with God. Trust me on this. This confession is probably the best first step you can take. You must convince yourself that women are really beautiful creatures and they are being exploited. Keep saying it out loud to yourself every time you see a girl on the beach or in a boxing ring showing off her rump think about how thy are exploited. Absolutely. God said it is better to cut off your hand than to keep committing sin with it. I believe by talking out your probem and start seeing girls as beautiful creatures then you will stop. Do not question your faith in God, but rather in the word of Man. You are a Christian. Great. So am I. Read the bible again, but ignore everything except what comes from the mouths of God and Christ. See what happens :) It's a very different book.

I am very Spiritual and I find that if I do something like look at dirty pictures or pleasure myself, I feel this huge amounf of guilt, it just doesn't feel right. This is an addiction that a lot of people have. I know a great book to help--its called "not even a hint" -read it. BTW God loves you so much and he knows what your going through. Talk to Him about it.
You are not greatly different from others--all of us have urges and lusts that attack our faith. The negative approaches rarely ever work, i.e. gritting ones teeth and resolving not to do it again. What is more effective is to be so full of something else, that there is not much room for porn or lust of any kind. Don't beat your self up--I'm not saying give yourself permission to do anything you wish; but rather realize that you are not the person you will be and that God is not through transforming you.
I know what ur going through, dude. I came back from a christians athletics camp, and old habits of mine just started comeing back to me. like that for instance. I know its hard and listen its great that u said something. Im a christian 2 and i never took my spirtual beliefs seriously but i want to change so bad. Im getting there but i still do all the old stuff that i do because to be honest thats all I ever knew because I learned the first time but i still havent gotten out of that cycle.
