Sent to a friend I'm a pedophile. I have tried to see a therapist a couple times, but never have the guts to even go in the building. I also am too cowardly to kill myself, so I am still here. People love me, I have many friends, but none know this secret of course.Rating:3130442.63

Therapy may, or may not work. If you ever do assault a minor, telling you the consequences are useless, as I am sure your well aware. Though considering you feel this as a chronic mental illness you'd likely be put on medication that reduces sexual drives, some men (as this clearly doesn't help female pedophiles) chose to be (medically) castrated.
It would truly help to find the root of your mental state, through therapy clearly, as you have not (assuming) acted on your thoughts there would be nothing to arrest you for. But rather that you would be a priority patient.
Perhaps doing personal research on the matter, such as treatment (as there is no cure), methods of coping, and therapists that specialize in pedophiles would encourage you to get help.
Some doctors believe Pedophilia to be a form of schizophrenia, or part of a sexual condition where individuals have sex drives for inanimate objects (famously for cars,'body/hug pillows',and even display mannequins.) Though all/most doctors believe there is no cure for Pedophilia.
You are the only one who can help yourself, but much like a drug addict or anyone else with a mental disorder, it's difficult.

Anyone who dejects a person's cry for help, is as responsible for their elicit actions as the person who commits them. Doing nothing to change, stop, or intervene with a problem makes a person as guilty as the one who commits the act. - I know people may hate you for what you are. But no condition is eternal.
